Role: Associate Pastor – Outreach Accountable to: Lead Pastor

The Role
The role of Associate Pastor – Outreach is to be a part of the pastoral leadership at Molong District Baptist Church (MDBC) and to provide direct leadership of the outreach ministries at MDBC. This role will also support the Lead Pastor and other ministry leaders in pastoral and spiritual matters.
Key Responsibilities
Primary areas of responsibility include:
- Together with the eldership, set and realise the outreach mission and vision and lead ministry teams in achievement towards that mission and vision
- Develop and implement outreach strategies
- Meet with, lead, and support outreach ministries
- Assist MDBC to foster a love for the lost – locally, regionally, and globally
- Encourage and equip MDBC for evangelism
Additional Responsibilities
Secondary areas of responsibilities will be to assist the Lead Pastor in general pastoral duties, such as, but not limited to:
- Implementation of the mission and vision of MDBC
- Planning and leading of various ministries facilitating cohesion between ministries as they implement the mission and vision of MDBC
- Sharing in preaching responsibilities, grounded in Bible-based teaching in accordance with MDBC’s ‘Statement of Beliefs’
- Developing healthy relationships within MDBC and deal with matters of discipline in a Christ-like manner
- Supporting, leading, and mentoring ministry leaders
- Involvement in the wider Molong and district community through cooperating with other churches
- Overseeing the orderly, harmonious, and healthy functioning of MDBC with wisdom, mature counsel, Godly discernment, and humility
Qualifications and Experience
- Be an accredited or recognised Baptist Minister (or working towards)
- Be a man of Christian character, conviction, and competency with demonstrated experience in ministry
- Have proven potential to lead, equip and develop leaders in Christian ministry
- Hold a current NSW Police Check and Working With Children Check
- Have completed the appropriate Safe Ministry Screening Form and Safe Church Training Requirements delivered by a recognised body (such as the Baptist NSW training or one approved by the NCCA safe church program)
General Requirements
- Demonstrate spiritual maturity, stability and character as outlined in 1 Timothy 3: 1-7 and Titus 1: 5-9
- Gifting in servant-leadership ministry, particularly regarding shepherding as outlined in 1 Peter 5: 1-4
- Ability to engage in prayerful self-reflection
- Ability to relocate to the town of Molong NSW and be part of the community
- A member or associate member of MDBC, regularly attend church services and support the MDBC ‘Statement of Beliefs’
- Ability to work as a team player
- Willingness to work with all existing leaders without reserve
- Accessible and responsive to the congregation members
- Ability to build rapport and communicate in a clear and friendly way with a diverse range of people
- Ability to properly handle confidential information in an appropriate and secure manner
- Adherence to the MDBC Code of Conduct
Remuneration and Support
This is a permanent part-time role (3/5) and will be remunerated in line with the Baptist Association NSW and ACT recommendations as to Stipend and Wage Guidelines. A church house can be included as part of remuneration package. This position will commence as a three (3) day a week position with the expectation that the role will grow into a full-time position as the church grows and the budget allows.
The ministries that The Associate Pastor – Outreach has responsibilities for will be supported financially as identified in the budget process each financial year and approved in the MDBC Budget meeting.
The Associate Pastor – Outreach will be provided administrative support from the Church Administration Officer.
