Director of Children & Family Ministries
Macquarie Baptist Church (MBC) is a growing international community of 200 adults and children across two congregations, committed to gospel-shaped life and mission. Exciting prospects are afforded by newly constructed ministry facilities located in a rapidly developing residential, university and business precinct of Sydney. We are looking for someone with passion and experience to mobilise and equip the members of MBC in seeing children discipled and nurtured as followers of Jesus:
- Overseeing existing programs, including Creche, Kids Church, Youth, and Mainly Music.
- Enhancing ministry to infants, primary and high school children connected to MBC.
- Facilitating ministry initiatives that support MBC families in the discipling of their children.
- Developing new outreach initiatives, such as afternoon clubs or holiday programs.
- Engaging in the broader ministries of MBC, according to gifts and opportunities.
The role is anticipated to be full time. A part-time appointment may be negotiated if preferred. The final parameters and role title are flexible, depending on the gifts and abilities of the candidate.
Essential Criteria
The Director of Children & Family Ministries will have:
- Mature Christian faith, exhibiting a strong and vital relationship with Jesus.
- Developed Christian understanding consistent with the beliefs and values of MBC.
- Proven experience overseeing and developing ministry to children and families.
- NSW Working with Children Check and relevant Safe Church training.
Desirable Qualities
We will give preference to applicants who have:
- Formal ministry training appropriate to the role.
- Experience in multi-ethnic ministry contexts.
- Capacity to mentor and develop childrens ministry trainees.
Remuneration
Stipend, accommodation allowance, car allowance and superannuation contributions will follow the Association of Baptist Churches of NSW & ACT recommended provisions for Ministers.
