The REACH Willoughby SRE Board is looking for an SRE Teacher to work 4-5 days per week (negotiable) at Chatswood High School commencing January 2022.
For over 20 years REACH has employed qualified part time and full time SRE teachers to deliver and oversee effective SRE programs at Chatswood High School (CHS) and Willoughby Girls High School (WGHS). The CHS Teacher position will be vacant at the end of 2021, and REACH seeks to ensure the ongoing strength of this program in 2022 and beyond.
The successful applicant will need to be self-motivated, proactive in engaging with school staff and leadership, and able to work independently whilst maintaining good communication. They will report to the President of the REACH board, and work in consultation with the REACH SRE teacher at WGHS.
Qualification and Experience
The ideal applicant will hold a degree level qualification in theology and either hold or be willing to study towards a teaching qualification and have teaching experience relevant to SRE in a high school context. Any successful applicant will at least be qualified to Diploma level in either teaching or theology.
The successful applicant will have a current Working With Children Check number, have completed a church based Child Protection Training course in the last 3 years, adhere to the Nicene Creed and statement of faith found on the ‘SRE Positions Vacant’ section of the Generate website and be actively involved in their local church. To teach SRE, you must be authorised to teach SRE by a Department of Education approved SRE provider.
Remuneration
Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
