Insights August 2022
17/08/2022 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pmFree
Insights, is a monthly time of information, connection and inspiration. Last year we saw leaders from across 173 churches within our movement gather throughout the year for Insights Zoom. We’ll be diving deeper into different areas of Leadership Development across each 1-hour session. Allowing each session to become an Insight into one of these areas.
If you are a Baptist leader do not miss this opportunity to invest in your leadership development. Be intentional in setting aside time to fellowship and grow with other Baptist leaders as we journey together to our Gen1K Goal of 1000 Healthy Churches in a Generation.
Insights will take place on a monthly basis through Zoom and this months session will take place on Wednesday August 17 at 1pm. When we have events like The Gathering and our Annual Assembly or Leadership Conversations we will skip those months to make it easier for you to engage in Association-wide events. We’re even looking to bring in some experts to help with Insights topics. In 2022, Insights is will take place on the following days. Be sure to pop them in your diary.
- February 16
- March 16
- April 13
- June 15
- July 13
- August 17
- September 14
- October 19
- November 23
**Insights will not take place in May as other key Association’s events will take place in these months**
What topics will we be exploring?
For Insights in August we are joined by Dr Ruth Powell, Director of NCLS Research. Ruth will be speaking into ‘Sharing the Gospel in a Post-COVID World’. She will be highlighting the latest research insights into Australian spirituality and how this impacts communities of faith. Dr Ruth Powell has worked with NCLS Research since 1991 and focuses on church vitality and community spirituality and wellbeing. Ruth’s role involves managing research projects on both church and community life, as well as the development of resources for local churches, denominational leaders and other community agencies. Her own primary research interests lie in assisting churches to reflect on their interaction with the wider Australian community. As well as church health, and tracking changes in church life over time, she has worked on differences between age cohorts, and potential generational influences over time.
Who is Insights for?
Insights is for any leader within your church. This means the obvious leaders like Pastors (Senior, Executive, Associate etc), but it also extends to leaders outside of pastoral ministry (Secretaries, Treasurers, Elders etc). You may also choose to use this as a leadership development tool for people you see leadership potential in.
