This Youth Mental Health First Aid Training is a made up of two face to face training days. Attendance at both days is mandatory. The training is run by Fiona Gardner, a liscensed Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor.
Day One: 29th March 2023. Day Two: 30th March 2023. Both days are being held on level 1, Morling College.
Cost includes morning tea and lunch. As well as a Youth Mental Health First Aid Manual.
The training focuses on the 5 main issues in regards to youth mental health: depression, anxiety, psychosis, eating disorders and substance abuse. You will be equipped in how to interact and respond with a teen who has a mental health problem or crisis. You will leave the training feeling prepared and confident in not only your knowledge on mental health issues, but how to open up conversations and support someone with a mental health problem and how to respond in a crisis. This training, once completed, gives you a three year, nationally recognised certification as a Youth Mental Health First Aider.

COVID-19
Ensuring the health and safely of all attendees and complying with ongoing COVID-19 physical distancing restrictions remain high priorities. We have put in place a number of precautionary measures:
- The maximum number of tickets available for the training is capped at 22.
- Attendees must sit in the same seat and activity groups for the duration of the day.
- Hand sanitiser will be readily available at mutilple points throughout the building.
If you have cold/flu like symptoms or have a positive rapid antigen test, please contact Fiona and do not attend the training.
