The Baptist Advocacy Roundtable is a monthly online gathering of people who represent all the state associations, and various national agencies of the Australian Baptist Church.
In years gone past you might have seen some of their work in The Justice Report, or participated in the annual gathering in Canberra for Converge—an initiative that has brought leaders together from across the country to speak to parliamentarians about issues close to the heart of the Baptist movement. Converge has been running since 2016, and over the last two years the focus has been the plight of our brothers and sisters from Myanmar, and the Australian housing crisis.
By clicking the link below you will be able to read the first edition of the new monthly Advocacy and Justice Newsletter, providing you with an update on justice initiatives, significant dates, worship and prayer resources and further reading on justice issues both at home and abroad.
The purpose here is to speak with a clear and unified prophetic voice on matters of injustice close to Jesus’ and our own hearts. The hope is to assist church leaders and congregations to be better equipped for advocacy and see a greater concern for matters of justice integrated into the life of the local church.
In 2025 and beyond, we pray that this newsletter will equip all those who desire to be advocates for justice within and on behalf of the Baptist Church, together we’ll find helpful avenues to pray, speak and act together.
