Associate Pastor (including Youth) – Full-time or Part-time
Hughes Baptist is a church of around 250 people, located in Canberra. The current pastoral team includes the Lead Pastor and a part-time children’s worker.
We are looking to bring in an associate pastor who can oversee the youth ministry and potentially be involved in other ministry areas according to their passions and gifting.
We anticipate the person would devote around two days per week to overseeing the youth ministry. The format is flexible, though currently includes a small group for junior youth on Sunday mornings (during the morning service), a weekly senior youth bible study (Wednesday nights), and fortnightly combined youth events (Saturday afternoons), as well as quarterly regional youth events (where we participate alongside a few other baptist youth groups, on Friday nights).
If the suitable candidate would like to be involved in other areas of ministry as well, the role can be expanded to be anything up to full-time. Key opportunities include:
· Overseeing the evening service (focused mainly on young adults).
· Birthing a network of missional communities (simple churches) in southern Canberra.
· Developing a social media ministry (website, facebook, etc).
· Whatever fits the person’s gifts and passions (preaching, worship, pastoral care, etc).
We are seeking expressions of interest for someone who might like to commence around the beginning of 2026 (or earlier, depending on their availability).
