We’re excited to offer a unique part-time opportunity (2.5 days/week) to join our Sydney-based Faculty of Counselling, Chaplaincy & Spiritual Care.

As a Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Lecturer, you will:

  • Teach and Prepare Classes: Teach and support student growth by delivering lectures, preparing learning materials, and investing in the academic, spiritual, and professional formation of students in Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care.
  • Engage in Research and Development: Participate in ongoing research, writing, and professional development in your field, in alignment with the College policy.
  • Participate in the Morling College community through meetings, chapel, and campus events.
  • This role is part-time (2.5 days/week)

Essential Attributes:

  • Academic Qualifications to teach at required AQF levels.
  • Paid Working with Children Check.
  • Experience in teaching within a Higher Education institution.
  • A minimum of 7 years relevant and current professional experience as a chaplain, with at least 3 of those years at senior level.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated Christian character and active involvement in a local evangelical church.
  • Alignment of personal values, beliefs, and practices with the mission and Christian ethos of Morling College, and agreement to the College’s Staff Code.
  • Willingness to embrace a culture of shared evangelical conviction and gracious, respectful disagreement on other matters.

Desirable Attributes:

  • A Master’s-level qualification in Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care or a related discipline is highly regarded.
