We’re looking for an Initial Teacher Education Coordinator to join our Education team, in a Sydney-based, part-time role (2 days/week). You will play a key role in supporting student-teachers, strengthening school partnerships, and contributing to the life of our Christ-centred community.

As an Initial Teacher Education Coordinator, you will:

  • Advocate for partnerships with MC to school leaders and principals.
  • Coordinate and manage practicum placements, including liaising with schools, organising supervision, conducting visits, and providing progress reports.
  • Collaborate with schools to recruit and support future student-teachers while promoting the Christian Teacher Program.
  • Lead Enrichment Days to support student-teachers through tutorials, face-to-face learning, and their formation as Christian teachers.
  • Provide pastoral care and sensitively manage any issues between students, schools, or supervisors.
  • This role is part-time, 15.2 hours/week (2 days/week).

Essential Attributes (please respond to these attributes in your Cover Letter):

  • Recognised Tertiary Qualification in Education.
  • Teaching and administrative experience in Secondary and/or Primary Schools, with experience in Christian Education.
  • Effective communicator; able to liaise with partnering stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Works efficiently within a digital workspace; and adapts quickly to new processes and platforms.
  • Demonstrated Christian character and involvement in a local evangelical church.
  • Alignment of personal values, beliefs and practices with MC’s mission, Staff Code (https://tinyurl.com/mcstaffcode), and Christian ethos.

Desirable Attributes

  • Postgraduate Qualification in Education.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle).
  • Experience in Initial Teacher Education.
