‘Be fruitful’ in Hebrew – Genesis 1:28
Purpose?
An intercultural formational pathway that is designed to be immigrant-friendly and culturally safe. Its aim is to help people from culturally diverse backgrounds to discern their calling, equip them in ministry and build their discipleship, for God’s mission in their context.
Our goal is for culturally diverse followers of Jesus to be fruitful and multiply in their lives, ministry and calling – with a biblical framework and a kingdom learning experience.
How it works?
In its culturally safe program design, it is exclusively for the culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, as well as First Nations peoples. It will run over 5 Saturdays – once a month – in a semi-intensive format (4 hours) during each semester.
It will cover subject matters such as: personal calling, ministry competencies, discipleship, leadership skills and missions. Its unique program design is empowering due to cultural diversity, appreciative of language dynamics and operate in a community-based way.
It is a Baptist Association internal certificate that is in collaboration with Baptist Mission Australia and Morling College. It covers significant areas for those pursuing becoming a Baptist ‘recognised minister’ and is a healthy accreditation pathway as well.
The program will run in 2024 on the following Saturdays between 1:00-5:00 PM: July 13, August 10, September 14, October 12 and November 16. The cost is usually $500 but if you input this discount code PILOT24 it will have a $300 discount.
What is the long-term vision?
This pilot group will only address the first phase of a three-phase formational pathway. Our hope is that for those that seek further training and/or theological education, then there are two further phases that we are still writing and co-creating with our partners. This will hopefully lead towards further opportunities for future trainings, internships, certificates, diplomas and degrees.
