Webinar 4: Self-Care
24 June 2020; 7:30-8:30pm
Join Vivian Grice & Kathryn Girvan as they unpack the topic Self-care. “Self-care” is an increasingly familiar and commonly used phrase, especially for those involved in any people-helping roles. The concept and practice can be viewed with caution by Christians. It may be interpreted as being selfish or self-centred. However, as this session will reveal, there are sound biblical bases for self-care so that we can serve others effectively as Jesus calls us to do. This webinar will give an overview of the what, the why and the how of vital self-care practices that enable us to care well for others. Vivian Grice a Baptist pastor with over forty years’ experience, both in local church ministries and denominational leadership roles. It is his conviction that caring well for ourselves enables us to better fulfil Jesus’ mandate to “love God and love our neighbour”. And Kathryn Girvan who works for BaptistCare as a chaplain in aged care. She has been accredited as a Baptist minister for twenty years and came to learn the value of self-care through her own life experience.
