On Tuesday April 11 the NSW Government responded to the review into Special Religious Education (SRE) and Special Education in Ethics (SEE) in state schools in NSW. (See Here)
The Baptist Churches of NSW & ACT welcome the findings of the review. It continues to affirm the important place of SRE in Public Education.
We look forward to working in continued partnership with the Department of Education in the delivery of SRE, and with the principals and teachers in State schools that host SRE teachers each week.
Having SRE in schools is about choice for families within a public school setting, and providing students with the opportunity to question, explore, and discover the faith of their family.
The Baptist Churches of NSW will also continue to provide schools with equipped and authorised teachers, engaging the students with a quality, age-appropriate curriculum.
