CHILDREN AND FAMILY MINISTRY LEADER 4 days a week<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.0 PRIMARY PURPOSE<\/strong><\/p>\n

• To lead and support a range of children\u2019s and family related ministries at Pennant Hills Baptist Church, and facilitate transition of children between age-based ministries<\/li>\n
• To develop relationships and provide pastoral support to children and their families<\/li>\n
• To support mission related activities for families<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      3.0 AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n

      3.1 Children\u2019s Ministry (Approx 80% of time)<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Serve the church as primary ministry worker for all matters related to ministry with children and their families. This will include:<\/p>\n

      Bubbles (playgroup), Creche, Kids@SundayLive, Plus 5\/6 (Primary school Yr5-6)<\/p>\n

      • Leading the ministry teams<\/li>\n
      • Overseeing programs and teaching content \u2013 including providing comprehensive,<\/li>\n
      • consistent, needs-appropriate curricula<\/li>\n
      • Periodically teach all age groups to model teaching and connection<\/li>\n
      • Develop and execute school holiday program including teaching element \u2013 Kids@SundayLive<\/li>\n
      • Facilitate transition of Year 6 children into high school programs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Special Religious Education at Pennant Hills Public School<\/p>\n

        \n
        • Leading PHBC SRE teachers<\/li>\n
        • Maintain positive relationship with the local SRE head coordinator including confirming teaching dates<\/li>\n
        • Teaching Infants and Primary School Scripture at Pennant Hills Public School.<\/li>\n
        • Participate with other SRE teachers to co-lead combined events (e.g. Easter and Christmas services)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Recruiting, training and supporting leaders for children\u2019s\/family related ministries<\/p>\n

          \n
          • Inductions for team members including Safe Church administration<\/li>\n
          • Training in teaching content<\/li>\n
          • Modelling behaviours and skills<\/li>\n
          • Developing relationships with children and families and encouraging them in Christian faith<\/li>\n
          • Relationship-building and pastoral support<\/li>\n
          • Creating opportunities for involvement in church-based and external ministries including visitations, parachurch ministries (e.g. Samaritan\u2019s Purse, Prison Fellowship), picnics, camps, conferences, etc.<\/li>\n
          • Evangelism programs in collaboration with our mission team \u2013 leading and\/or supporting mission related activities for children and families including missionary support<\/li>\n
          • PennoLife mission – our January outreach initiative<\/li>\n
          • Engage with the PHBC community via prayer requests, newsletter updates, annual and adhoc reporting, budgeting for portfolio of ministries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            General Church Staff Support (Approx 10% of time)<\/strong><\/p>\n

            Participating in weekly staff meetings, supporting resulting outcomes.<\/p>\n

            Providing support as required for major church initiatives and activities.<\/p>\n

            Training & Development (Approx 10% of time)<\/strong><\/p>\n

            • Meet with Lead Pastor on a regular basis and suitable mentor\/children\u2019s ministry supporters and adopt development expectations that arise.<\/li>\n
            • Undertake continuing professional development in consultation with the Lead Pastor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              4.0 MINIMUM REQUIREMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

              Have up to date and approved:<\/p>\n

              • Police Check<\/li>\n
              • Working with Children Check<\/li>\n
              • Creating Safe Spaces training<\/li>\n
              • SRE Provider Training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                To be above reproach in character and conduct as fitting for a leader in God\u2019s church<\/p>\n

                Experience working with children in ministry and\/or vocation<\/p>\n

                To be a Christian and member of Pennant Hills Baptist Church<\/p>\n

                5.0 REVIEW PROTOCOL<\/strong><\/p>\n

                • Annual reviews with the Lead Pastor.
