Our Counselling courses are awarded through Morling College Ltd (Provider ID: PRV12034) and accredited under the self-accrediting authority approved by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). The team at MC are a dynamic, creative, and dedicated group of people who seek to love God with all that we are and to use our gifts and knowledge to serve others.

About the Role:

  • Collaborating with the CCSC team to develop courses and oversee unit offerings.
  • Managing and supporting permanent and Adjunct staff, e.g., managing teaching loads and role responsibilities and supporting staff wellbeing.
  • Supporting the CCSC and Student Services teams in student engagement, e.g., providing student support and addressing issues (e.g., course progression).
  • Preparing and teaching classes in Counselling.
  • 22.8 hours/week (3 days/week)
  • Remuneration: $68,994.39/annum (excl. Super)
  • Preferred Start Date: 29/04/2025

Key Attributes (please respond to these attributes in your Cover Letter):

Qualifications:

  • A relevant Masters level qualification in Counselling or a related discipline.
  • Hold current clinical membership of a related professional association such as PACFA, ACA, CCAA.
  • Hold (or is eligible for) an active paid Working with Children’s Check or equivalent.
  • Applicants with doctoral level qualifications, undertaking doctoral level studies, or willing to engage in doctoral studies will be favourably considered.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Able to maintain currency of clinical practice.
  • Demonstrate excellence in leadership skills and professional practice experience in Counselling (minimum of 7 years relevant professional experience, with at least 3 of those years at a senior level).
  • Demonstrate excellence in teaching at a tertiary level, including online course delivery.
  • Proficiency in a client-centred, process-oriented approach to counselling.
  • Experience with supervision of counselling practice.

Skills, Character, and Qualities:

  • Demonstrated Christian character and involvement in a local evangelical church.
  • Alignment of personal values, beliefs and practices with the mission, Staff Code (https://tinyurl.com/mcstaffcode), and Christian ethos of Morling College.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing research and professional development in counselling and/or related disciplines.
  • A dedication to advancing the counselling profession and contributing to the growth and improvement of the field.
