Strategic Planning

Someone once said that if you aim at nothing, you’ll hit it every time! A church can invest a lot of time and energy in producing a vision statement but without a strategic plan then the rate of progress towards achieving that vision may well range from slow to stop. When that happens people may become cynical about visioning when the fault lies with the lack of follow-through. A strategic plan is simply a series of goals and the order in which they will be undertaken to help a church get from where it is to where it believes God will have it be. A good plan will articulate strategic priorities in keeping with the vision, associated ministry initiatives, key accountabilities, time frames, etc.
