Earlier this year, Oatley Gospel Community Church officially became a New Start Approved Church through our discernment process. Led by Pastor Tracy Wang, this vibrant community continues to see God at work in remarkable ways.
In July, the church gathered for a weekend camp around the theme “Believe in the Lord, and you will be saved—you and your household” (Acts 16:31). The focus on God’s heart for families was evident across the weekend, as brothers and sisters in Christ enjoyed deep connection, heartfelt worship, and the joy of being God’s people together.
The highlight came as five people made decisions to follow Jesus during the camp. “We praise God for how the Holy Spirit moved among us,” Tracy shared. “It reminds us again that our God is the One who does great and mighty things—using even our small offerings to accomplish His eternal purposes.”
Youth were also at the centre of the weekend. With the support of Jason, a local Baptist church youth leader, a group of ten young people engaged deeply in worship, Bible study, and meaningful community. Tracy described his leadership as marked by warmth, maturity, and a servant heart.
For a church still early in its journey, Oatley Gospel Community is already seeing lives changed by the gospel. We celebrate alongside them and give thanks for the way God is raising up new communities of faith through the Gen1K vision of 1000 healthy churches in a generation.
As part of our wider Baptist family, Oatley Gospel Community reminds us that every new church is a fresh expression of God’s mission, bringing hope and transformation into local communities.
